A delegation of GMR Energy Trading Ltd Chattisgarh headed by Mr. Mohit Shingal, Head Power Trading called on Minister of State for Power Development Department Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi here today and offered providing 200 MW Thermal Power to Jammu and Kashmir State on concessional rates.Commissioner Secretary Power Mr. Dheeraj Gupta, Development Commissioner Power Gul Ayaz, Secretary Technical Mr. Asgar Ali Majaz, Chief Engineer Commercial Shanaz Goni and Superintending Engineer Commercial attended the meeting while as Mr. Ashish Panwar, Regional Manager, Power Sales and Marketing GMR Ltd and Hemand Mattu Representative were also present.
Mr. Shingal apprised the Minister about the objectives and plans of the Energy Trading Ltd by using Tharmal power in the State. He said GMR plans to supply 200 MW power to Jammu and Kashmir State at the cheapest rate of Rs 2.98 per unit and the supply shall be made directly from Chhattisgarh. He said that the States like Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand are already purchasing power from GMR.The Minister directed the state functionaries to remain in touch with the Energy Trading Ltd. and set out the modalities for procurement of power from outside state. Commissioner Secretary PDD apprised the Minister that at present State government is purchasing 300 MW Tharmal power through bidding process. He said the bids will be posted at portal soon and suggested the GMR authorities to take part in the bidding process.
