Raj Upadhyay has directed this Tom Alter starrer, which is based on three short stories by Russian playwright Anton Chekhov—The Arrangement, The Surgery and Seduction. The 90-minute English play highlights “the beauty in the most ordinary characters around us" while focusing on the “hold of decadent government on society".

This dance festival will bring together some of the best classical dancers. Aditi Mangaldas will present Seeking The Beloved, a Kathak performance. Bharatanatyam exponent Vaibhav Arekar and Sankhya Dance Creations will present Naama Mhanean, based on the life of the saint Namdev. Aruna Mohanty will perform an Odissi dance.

Resurgence—Revival Of Indian Embroideries And Textiles
Till 22 May
Curated by Ahmedabad-based designer Asif Shaikh, this exhibition highlights the revival of India’s textile heritage, with a special focus on embroidery. The textiles are embellished with Bandhani, Ajrakh and Kalamkari work, as well as hand-embroidery styles such as aari, zardozi and kamdani.

Theatre group Bohurupee will celebrate its 68th anniversary by staging two of its productions. Rajar Khonje, directed by Tulika Das, is set in 1942 in Warsaw, Poland. It is about a doctor who lives with a Jewish orphan in a ghetto. The other play, Naachni, directed by Parthapratim Deb, reflects on patriarchy and the exploitation of female performing artistes.
