Jammu and Kashmir Police Headquarters organised daylong workshop for faculty members and instructional staff of all Police Training Institutions of the State. The workshop was held to reorient the police for making it service oriented and in tune with the changing expectations of the people.Inaugurating the workshop, the Additional Director General of Police (Trainings), Mr. Navin Agarwal asked for introducing the concept of “SMART Policing” in the curriculum. He emphasised that no de-humanizing approach with regard o trainees would be acceptable in any training institute. It was also decided that soft skill necessary for better police public interface would be introduced in the police curriculum.
During the workshop, detailed deliberations were held on various aspects of prescribed syllabi and the need to replace obsolete topics with current issues like Cyber Crime and other white Collar Crime, and also to upgrade the skills of the trainers with regard to Forensic Science and Cyber Forensics. He emphasised that vital infrastructure available with the training centres during lean period can be usefully utilized for various people friendly measures.Attended by police instructional staff from Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur and other police training institutions of the State, the workshop was also briefed by AIG (Personnel) PHQ, Mr. Tahir Sajad, SP Trainings (PHQ), Mr. B.A. Shah, Deputy Superintendents of Police, Sheikh Zaffar Ullah and Mohammad Iqabal.
