Mel C ‘Drops Out Of Spice Girls Reunion’

Mel C has reportedly followed in Victoria Beckham’s footsteps and dropped out of the Spice Girls reunion.

Details of the group’s plans to reunite to mark their 20th Anniversary have been rolling around for a while now, though nothing has seemingly been officially, 100% set in stone.

It was thought that Mel B, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel C would continue on with the reunion despite Posh Spice not taking part, but plans could now be in turmoil as Mel C’s departure leaves them as a trio.

The three remaining members are, though, still believed to be in talks about possibly still doing something - perhaps a live performance or even recruiting new members in a TV show.

A source told The Sun: “Mel C is out of the reunion for now. She has essentially left the band to focus on a more serious music career.

“She loves the girls but it just didn’t feel right for her to reunite with them at the moment. She has other priorities and obviously it was a bit of a problem that Victoria made it clear she wasn’t going to be part of the reunion.

“Mel B and Geri in particular are still determined to mark their anniversary in some way. They are arranging a number of meetings which include the option for a tour, possibly with just the three of them or with other singers.

“There have even been the suggestions of a Spice Girls talent show. It would be an absolute TV sensation. Could you imagine the opportunity for a member of the public to become a Spice Girl?”

The insider added that whilst they could ‘accept Victoria’s decision’ since Geri had left them as a four-piece back in 1998, Mel C’s departure could be ‘a bridge too far’.
