Directing executing agencies to speed up the pace of construction of all ongoing development works across the state, the Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri Thursday gave a fortnight dead line for completion of two mega projects of Dental Hospital and Convention Centre coming up at a cost of Rs.38 crore and Rs.33 Crore respectively in Jammu.The Minister gave these directions today while inspecting several developmental projects in Jammu division. He was accompanied by Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Construction Corporation JKPCC, Daleep Thusoo and a team of engineers.Mr Veeri inspected various sections of the buildings and enquired about air conditioning and other facilities. At Convention Centre, the Minister inspected meeting hall, seminar hall and other sections and directed the concerned to make the Conference Hall at par with SKICC Srinagar.The Minister also inspected ongoing construction work of Nikki Tawi Bridge, which is coming up at a cost of Rs.30 crore. He  was informed that the bridge would be completed in June next year and will connect 40 villages of the area.

Mr. Veeri also inspected construction work of Forest Complex, Jammu and was informed that the complex will accommodate all units of forest department under one roof. He was informed that Rs 10 crore is being expended on the project.The Minister also inspected additional block of Dental Hospital, Jammu which is progressing at a cost of Rs 44 crore. He was informed that Rs 6 crore has been spent so far on the execution of the block.The Minister also enquired about the progress of some other vital developmental projects which include Ganpat and Poonch bridges.Mr Veeri asked the concerned executive agencies to follow the timeline of all the projects and ensure that there would no cost escalation in any case. He also directed them to ensure quality work.Among others, General Manager JKPCC N D Khawaja and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
