The Kota coaching hub has lived up to the expectations in JEEMains result announced on Wednesday . The data corroborated from various coaching institutes says that Kota has a share in the merit list of 2 lakh students qualified for the JEEAdvanced examination. Till the last report came in, all major coaching institutes were compiling the results.
The highest score in Rajasthan was bagged by Utkarsh Gupta from Kota who has been living here since 2012.Gupta scored 335 out of 360 marks with 100% marks in Maths.
“So far my information is concerned, Gupta has second highest score in the county with highest being 340 marks by a student in Delhi. I am hoping that our Gupta will top the JEE-Advanced exam for sure,“ said RK Verma, director, Resonance Eduventures Pvt Ltd. This institute has claimed highest number of students who qualified for the next level.
The cut-off in all categories has reduced this year. For general category , it is 100 points against 105 last year, OBC is 70 points, SC closed at 2 points higher than the last year on 52 points and ST on 48.
Commenting on trend, Brijesh Maheshwari, director of Allen Coaching Institutes, said, “The dip in cut off is due to increase of students in the merit list from 1.50 lakh to 2 lakh this year.This is a good move as more students will get the chance to compete in the grand finale.“ He said 29 students from his institute have scored 300 marks and above. The highest score being 325 from his institute.
Vibrant coaching institute's topper has scored 321. Narendra Awasthi, director, Vibrant Academy says, “This year success rate has been phenomenal. Kota has again delivered its best and I am hoping that results will be the same for JEE-Advanced.“ Sameer Bansal, director of Bansal Classes also has many students who scored above 300 marks. “We are still compiling the results. So far our best score was 316 by Vale Agrawal,“ said Bansal.
MD of Motion Coaching institute, Nitin Vijay said many girls this year from our institute has qualified for the next level. “Our student Meenaxi has scored 315 marks. Her success will encourage other girls to go for IITs.which is considered as male's bastion,“ said Vijay. Career Point's Pramod Maheswari highest score was 300 till the last report came. Adarsh Kumar Sahu of Career Point scored 300 marks. Rao coaching institute is also rejoicing the success of its students in JEE-Mains.Jogeshwar Rao, director of Rao Coaching institute says, “Two of our students have scored 300.“
