Shahid Kapoor has sure impressed everyone with his whacko avatar in Udta Punjab. He fits right into a mould nobody imagined he would, that of an addict musician, Tommy Singh.  

After the spell-binding performance in Haider, Shahid is rocking the aggressive rockstar look with chunky, blingy jewellery and a whacky hairdo. He perfectly channels the craziness of a drug-addict, high-flying, to-hell-with-the-world rock musician.

The film is based on the drug crisis that has clutched the state of Punjab and tells a story of four individual, each fighting their own battles. Udta Punjab also stars Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh. Directed by Ishqiya director, Abhishek Chaubey, this gritty and intense drama will unfold on the screens on June 17.
