Ericsson explore the future of 5G in the region at the 5G World Series

Ericsson will be demonstrating the journey to 5G at its stand number 23 at this year’s 5G World Series, formerly LTE MENA, which will be held at The Conrad in Dubai between May 9 and 11, 2016.

During the event, Ericsson will showcase interesting and insightful demonstrations at its stand including the journey to 5G, 5G for industries – including automotive – and 5G use cases; cellular for massive IoT; life in 2025, app coverage and app experience; and public transport including LTE rail and connected water, and the connected bus stop, amongst others.

Experts from Ericsson will hold enlightening keynote sessions, and participate in panel discussions around the topics that prevail in the ICT sector today. On the Silver Signaling Day on May 9, Heikki Palmroos, the Strategic Product Manager DSC and Anders Hagekrans, the Core and IMS Solution Manager at Ericsson will host a key note session to discuss Signaling Virtualization for future networks. On May 10, Rakesh Lakhani, Head of Mobile Broadband for Ericsson Region Middle East will discuss the 10 Mantras of Monetizing Mobile Broadband.

This year, Ericsson is also participating in a number of panel discussions. Dr. Håkan Andersson, the 5G Product Manager for Ericsson’s Radio business, will participate as a panelist in Securing a Smooth Transition 4G To 5G. The panel discussion aims to highlight the role of virtualization for mobile networks in coming years, the future of LTE networks in the race to 5G and the expectations that we have when it comes to 5G. In another panel discussion entitled, Virtualizing Mobile Networks, Murat Sahinoglu, Head of Core and Cloud at Ericsson Region Middle East will highlight the ways in which virtualization technologies help respond to current levels of data traffic, how they are defining the future requirements of 5G and how NFV will improve service agility, flexibility and elasticity.

In addition to its participation, Ericsson will also host a panel discussion about Strategies to Monetize Traffic in the Era of 5G and IoE Enablement. The panel will be moderated by Georges Dabaghi, Head of TV and Media Practice for Ericsson Middle East.
