Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have become the new online matchmakers.
Amravati resident Gaurav Parise became acquainted with a French woman, Ophelie Roberro, on Facebook. Love bloomed and now they are married.
Gaurav Parise is a resident of Shivnagar and works in an animation firm in Pune. Ophelie Roberro, a French citizen who hails from Evian Les Bains city, works in a private firm in France.

Parise met Ophelie in September 2015 at Delhi's India Gate when she was traveling as a tourist in India. He clicked a photograph with her but they didn’t get acquainted.
After returning to Amravati, Parise sent a ‘friend request’ to Roberro on Facebook, which she accepted. They spent hours on internet chats and then on the phone with each other and fell in love in the process.
Parise’s and Roberro’s parents approved. Roberro arrived in Pune two months ago and got engaged.
On Tuesday, they solemnized their marriage as per Hindu traditions in Amravati. After returning to France, they will solemnize the marriage according to Christian tradition.
