4 held with beef, liquor in Dewas

Dewas police arrested four persons transporting beef to Indore in their car near Kshipra in the afternoon on Wednesday. A large amount of country made liquor was also seized from their possession.

Indore: Dewas police arrested four persons transporting beef to Indore in their car near Kshipra in the afternoon on Wednesday. A large amount of country made liquor was also seized from their possession.
Mohammad Ramiz, 22, Abdul Samad, 30, Abdul Khan, 27, and Imran Khan, 24 were arrested by Baroth police and a complaint under relevant sections was registered against them.

Transportation of beef came to light when Baroth police got a tip off from a source and they stopped a car being driven by Ramiz.
"Ramiz used an identity card to pass the toll plaza. When we apprehended him, he had no paperwork. When we asked them to show what they were carrying in the vehicle, they drove off," said Kailash Solanki, Baroth police station in charge.The group then gave the vehicle a chase and managed apprehend them near Kshipra on the Bypass.
On checking the contents, it was found they were carrying beef. According to police, the four claimed that the beef was being brought from a shop, however, after finding knives and carcass packed in a sack and stuffed under the seat, the cops arrested the four and took them for questioning. Baroth police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Madhya Pradesh Cow Slaughter Prevention Act and arrested them.
"They have also been booked under the Excise Act and Arms Act," said Solanki.
