Ranchi: Chief minister Raghubar Das on Wednesday said that henceforth the Jharkhand government will buy blankets, towels, uniform for government school children, pillow covers and other similar products only from Jharcraft.
The announcement was made in a review meeting of Jharcraft conducted by the CM on Wednesday. During the meeting, CM directed Jharcraft officials to open an emporium on 10,000 sq ft area in HEC and also start the procedure to open emporiums in all the big cities of the country which will not just help Jharcraft extend its market but also help in promoting the state art across country.
Managing Director of Jhacraft, AK Singh said, "We have been told to put the label of Make in Jharkhand along with a logo of Jharcraft on every product which will be bought by the government.
Around 26,000 women self-help groups will be linked to this work.
The CM announced that women would be given training of stitching and embroidery under skill development by the government and they will be linked to Jhacraft.
AK Singh informed that there are 133 common facility centres in Jharkhand where thread is prepared but only 23 of them are functional. Within the next three months, 38 more centres will be made functional and we are aiming to start work in all the facility centres by the end of this year.
