Churu remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius was recorded.
Attributing the drizzles in the afternoon to the western disturbances, Jaipur Met office said that mild drizzles will continue in the next 24 hours.
Many places in the state are likely to get mild showers and drizzles accompanied with dust storms in the next couple of days.
Citizens woke up to a warmer morning on Wednesday. This was followed by sultry afternoon as a maximum temperature of 40.0 degrees Celsius was recorded. Though scattered rainfall was witnessed across the city, it hardly left any impact on the sweltering heat. However, in the evening there was a dip of almost 2 degrees Celsius in the evening. "It appears that this rainfall will put an impact on the maximum temperatures of Thursday. There is going to be a dip of almost 3 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperatures," said an officer with the Jaipur Met office.
Churu was followed by Sriganganagar, where a maximum temperature was 42.8 degrees Celsius. Similary, Barmer and Bikaner recorded 42.2 degrees Celsius each, Jaisalmer 41.9, Jodhpur 41.6, Ajmer 41.3, Kota 41.2 and Udaipur 39.6 degrees Celsius.
In its forecast, Jaipur Met office said that there is going to be respite from the prolonged spell of the scorching heat conditions across the state as there is a possibility of rainfall and dust storm in the next couple of days.
