City student scores 320 in JEE main

Surat: Parv Mor, a student of Radiant English Academy in the city has scored 320 marks in JEE main exams for which the results were declared on Wednesday. Parv currently is preparing for JEE advance exam scheduled on May 22 and plans to pursue career in computer science engineering.
"It feels great after scoring such high marks. I prepared for almost 16 hours to score good marks.I am now focusing on advance (JEE). If I get opportunity I would like to study in IIT Mumbai," said Parv. No one from Parv's family could make it to IIT till now and he will be first to achieve this academic success.
Parv, son of a textile businessman Manoj and housewife Sharmila, has a younger brother who studies in school. Manoj, a native of Sujangarh in Rajasthan, has settled in Surat for better business opportunities. "I am proud that Parv achieved such a high score and set an example. It is result of his efforts and hard work," said Manoj.
"For the first time a student from city scored national level ranking and it is a matter of pride for all of us. We wish that Parv scores higher marks in future as well," said Mahesh Savani, founder of Radiant English Academy.
"Parv was consistent in his efforts for consecutive two years and never stopped working hard. His dedication is the reason for his success," said Anil Patidar of Aakash, an institute of competitive exam preparation.
According to an estimate nearly 16,000 students from Surat appeared for JEE main exams held earlier this month. In all more than 80,000 students appeared for this exams from the state.
The cut off marks for General category is placed at 100, 70 for OBC, 52 for SC and 48 for ST. JEE advance will be held on May 22. Those who have cleared the JEE main will now appearing for the JEE advance.
