A two-day Evolution Cricket League (ECL) to improve the quality of life of slum children will be organized from Thursday. All proceeds from the tournament will be donated to funding cricket training of promising slum children as well as improving their education and living conditions. ECL is the brainchild of Raj Patel, a class 11 student who said that qualified coaches will be appointed to train slum children and cricket gear will be provided to them.

CM releases postal stamp of Tripathi:
Chief minister Anandiben Patel on Wednesday released the postal stamp in memory of eminent Gujarati literary figure Govardhanram Madhavram Tripathi and appealed to prominent authors to conserve the state's rich literary heritage by encouraging next generation to move towards literature. Patel said that postal stamp release of Shri Govardhanram Tripathi is a matter of pride for Gujarati literature. Experienced and senior authors should guide young generation which will be helpful to encourage youths towards reading and writing, she added.
WITDA appoints new office bearers:
Committee members of the Western India Tea Dealers Association (WITDA) representing leading tea traders of the western region, has unanimously selected Paras Desai, executive director of a city-based Tea Group as president in its annual general meeting held recently. Piyush Desai, founder member, stepped down as president after having run WITDA as president for 24 years. Ashok Relia is the new vice president, Pinkesh Patel and Suresh Kedia have been selected as the secretaries and Forum Shah is now the joint secretary.
