The Udupi Cycling Club in association with Udupi district police, Rotary Club and Indian Medical Association will organise a ‘Coastal summer ride for kids’ here on Saturday.
In a press release issued here on Wednesday, K. Annamalai, Superintendent of Police, said that the objective was to instil confidence and create awareness among children about the importance and health benefits of cycling.
The theme of the ride is, ‘Cycling is good for health and to the environment too. Let’s do cycling.’
The ride would begin from Ajjarkad Park at 7 a.m. on Saturday.
The route of the cycle ride is: Ajjarkad, Court Road, Kavi Muddana Marg, Shiribeedu Junction, Kalsanka, MGM College, Kalsanka, Shiribeedu, Narayana Guru Circle and Brahmagiri Circle. The ride will culminate at the District Stadium at Ajjarkad.
Besides, members of District Police, Rotary Club and Udupi Cycling Club, students, teachers and doctors too would participate in the ride.
