Are you wondering why the Garden City is hotter than several sizzling northern towns? According to experts, this is a man-made phenomenon.
“The sharp increase in the amount of pollutants due to the use of fossil fuels in Bengaluru is the main reason for the temperatures being higher,” said agro-meteorologist M.B. Raje Gowda.
Another reason is the multi-storeyed buildings with glass structures.
The incoming radiation goes through multiple reflections from these glass structures resulting in increase in the quantum of heat below the atmospheric layer. These kinds of glass structures are suited only for polar countries, he says.
