Haryana government has allowed people to install grid-connected rooftop solar power plants of capacity ranging from 1 kilowatt to 1 megawatt under net-metering regulations in the state.

Chandigarh: Haryana government has allowed people to install grid-connected rooftop solar power plants of capacity ranging from 1 kilowatt to 1 megawatt under net-metering regulations in the state. It has also allowed sale of power either to government or third party from such plants. Ankur Gupta, principal secretary of renewable energy department, said under the Haryana Solar Power Policy 2016, a total capacity of 1,600 MW rooftop solar power plants would be added by 2021-22.
Referring to criteria fixed for the eligibility of rooftop solar plants, he said solar power plants installed on concrete structure or concrete walls or having an electricity connection or installed on any structure or ground within the building or complex premises would be counted as rooftop solar power plant. He said permission for setting up of rooftop solar power plants would not be required from the building plan sanctioning authority.
Wheat purchase loans for staff Chandigarh: Haryana government has decided to grant an interest free advance of Rs 15,000 to all its Class IV employees who wish to buy wheat during the year financial year 2016-17. According to a finance department official, the loan would be recovered in monthly installments to be fixed by department concerned to effect its full recovery before March 31, 2017. The wheat loan would not be granted to those employees who are on deputation to other government or corporation and local bodies. The advance would also not be admissible to work-charged, contractual and daily wage employees. In case, both husband and wife are employed, the wheat advance will be allowed to only one of them.
Quack couple held in raid
Yamunanagar: Acting on the complaint submitted at the chief minister's window about a doctor couple carrying out illegal abortions, a joint team of health department and police raided a private clinic in Yamunanagar and found that both had fake medical degrees. The department had sent a decoy customer for getting the abortion done at the clinic of the couple, who declined to comply with the request. Later, when the raiding team searched Yadav Dampati clinic in Chandpura locality, owned by R K Yadav and his wife Lekha Yadav, it was discovered that their degrees were invalid, said Yamunanagar civil surgeon Dr Vijay Garg. He said both claimed to have got their degrees from two institutes in Bihar.
Robbers thrash man, flee with truck
Gurgaon: Four masked men allegedly escaped with a truck after waylaying it on Gurgaon-Farrukhnagar road late on Tuesday. The driver of the truck was tied up, thrashed and robbed of his money before the gang escaped with the vehicle. An FIR has been registered at Farrukhnagar police station. Mamchand, who belongs to Rajasthan, was returning to his state from Delhi after unloading a shipment of jetsam when four men accosted him.
