The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has planned to transfer management of its parking sites in commercial centres to the MCD concerned, the urban body said Wednesday.
The proposal was put before the Lt Governor seeking efficient delivery of parking services to people. The DDA, however, said the ownership of the land would continue to be with them and could take back possession of any such land if required.
DDA said that in the interest of proper management, operation and maintenance of market complexes and for the efficient delivery of parking services to the people, it had been decided to transfer this revenue stream from parking to the municipal corporations. “(This) would boost the revenues of the corporation… and the corporation will be responsible for maintenance of the parking sites, action for any encroachment or misuse, etc,” it added
The urban body also said the MCD cannot put the land to any use other than parking.
