The High Court today posted a plea, seeking directions to Haryana to stop pension to former legislators Om Parkash Chautala and Ajay Chautala, for hearing on May 23 to enable the petitioner file an additional affidavit on terms during which they remained Assembly members.
In the plea placed before the Bench of Justice SS Saron and Justice Gurmit Ram, advocate HC Arora had placed under judicial scanner the disbursement of pension to former Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala and his elder son Ajay even after disqualification.
Arora was seeking directions to the state government and Assembly against disbursing pension Chautala and Ajay in the capacity of former MLAs following conviction in a corruption case.
The petitioner claimed both father and son had received around Rs 95 lakh in pension after their conviction in the JBT recruitment scam.
Chautala was paid Rs 2.15 lakh per month, while Ajay was paid Rs 50,100.
