Uganda motorsport governing body (FMU) president this Wednesday afternoon at National council of sports (NCS) Lugogo named a high profile team that will be responsible for the organisation of this year's Pearl of Africa Uganda rally.

FMU President Dusman Okee named a fourteen man team Wednesday at NCS Lugogo to spear head the organisation of the event due in September.

"We want to have a very successful event to reclaim our previous glory on the continent and that is why we have named experienced and high profile men to manage this year's Pearl of Africa Uganda rally," Okee stated before announcing the team.

The team has veteran rally navigator Frank Nekusa as Clerk of the Course (COC) assisted by David Mayanja and Cedric Buzabo.

Nekusa was Karimu Hirji's navigator in the 90s while Cedric Buzabo is former Ronald Ssebuguzi's co-driver and has great experience together with David Mayanja.

City Lawyers Oscar Kihika and MacDusman Kabega are event manager and head of Stewards respectively.

Notable on the team is Captain Mike Mukula who is the chief mobiliser and will be out to mobilise support from all the stake holders.

Others on the committee include, Katende Mukiibi, Joseph Mwangala, Fred Obbo, Edrisa Nsubuga and Herbert Rutagwera.

Okee also added that preparations for the FMU awards are in high gear and City Tyres has committed to buy all the trophies.
