Monica Savant appointed as vice district governor of Lions Clubs

BELAGAVI: Monica Savant, former president of Belgaum-Shahapur Lions Club has been appointed for the post of second vice-district governor of the International Association of Lions Clubs District 317B, for the year 2016-17. She is the first woman from Belagavi appointed for this prestigious post.
Consulting architect and an interior designer by profession, Monica Savant joined Lions Club of Belgaum- Shahapur in February 2010 and became its president in 2013-14.She became zonal chairperson in 2014-15.
She has several milestones and awards in her feather like Best Lioness Outstanding President, Best Lion of Region, Medal for Outstanding Leadership from International President, International Award for Club Excellence and Excellence President Pin etc. She has organized several fund raising events to help weaker sections of society and also worked for the betterment of children living with AIDS and sex workers.
