India’s challenge at the Women’s World Squash Championship ended after Joshna Chinappa crashed out in the second round of the tournament here today.

Up against the top seed and World No. 1, Laura Massaro of England, the Indian national champion failed to put up a fight, going down 3-11, 6-11, 3-11 in a match that lasted just 27 minutes.

Drawn in the top half, the 14th ranked Indian player, who had earlier won her opening round match comfortably in straight games, proved to be no match for the Englishwoman.

Last night, another Indian, Dipika Pallikal had bowed out of the tournament in the first round, losing a five-game match to the 10th ranked Annie Au.
