Police training centre to be set up in Mangalagiri: DGP

Vijayawada Apr 27 (UNI): Director General of Police J V Ramudu said that a police training centre, on the lines of Andhra Pradesh police Academy, would be set up in 2,200 acres of land Mangalagiri in Guntur district and the Amaravathi Police Commissionerate would be formed whenever new IPS officers were allocated to the state by the Centre.
Talking to newspersons after laying foundation stone for the construction of a function hall in Mangalagiri town, 10 km from here in Guntur district, Mr Ramudu that investigation on the large scale violence erupted in Tuni in which an express train, a police station and several vehicles were set on fire by mobs, was completed and the offenders would be arrested soon.
The Police Chief made it clear that there were no Maoist activities in the new capital Amaravathi region. He also ruled out the possibility of former CBI Director Lakshmi Narayana coming to Andhra cadre.
