Two cops found guilty for taking bribe, abetting suicide of elderly

Ratlam, MP, Apr 27 (UNI) Ratlam District police intensified its drive to nab a police inspector and an assistance sub-inspector (ASI) for taking bribe from an elderly man by implicating him in false case and also abetting him for suicide in a three-year-old case.
“Prima facie, Inspector RC Bajhaiya -- now posted in Khargone – and ASI Prem Parmar -- posted in Barkheda -- were found guilty after a criminal case was registered against the duo four days ago,” Additional Superintendent of police Prashant Choubey said.
Dr Choubey said Bajhaiya and Parmar were posted in Ravti in 2013 and during that period they implicated one Nagga (80), resident of Naharpura, in a false murder case. They demanded a bribe of Rs 1.5 lakh from the old man to free him from the case. Nagga sold jewellery and collected Rs 70,000 and then sold his cattle for another Rs 30,000 and thereby gave Rs one lakh against bribe to them. But the greedy police men were exerting pressure on the old man for another Rs 50,000. Exasperated with the continuous pressure, Nagga committed suicide by pouring kerosene on his body on January 21, 2013.
