New Delhi: ATM cards have made our lives much easier. The 24x7 service doesn't only ensure fast cash dispensation, it has a host of other facilities which can be availed by click of your fingers.

 

However, ATM card holders are also eligible for many facilities other than just banking. These facilities are not known commonly.

Here are 5 most important facilities that ATM card holders can avail.

 

Get Insurance upto Rs 10 lakh

Automated teller machine (ATM) card holders of both public and private sector banks are eligible for accidental hospitalisation cover and and accidental death cover by the card issuing bank. It ranges between Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh. However, if at all you must avail the insurance amount, your bank passbook has to be operational. The insurance cannot be availed for inoperative account.

How to claim insurance

Immediately inform the police after the accident and highlight everything properly.

In case of hospitalisation, all the medical reports have to be submitted.

If it is a case of accidental death these things will be required to deposit: the post-mortem report, police panchnama, death certificate, valid driving license.

Bank must be informed that the card holder has made transaction in last 90 days.


Unlimited transaction

Though most of the private and public banks charge you for making five transactions, there are certain banks which offer you unlimited transactions on their home ATM. But, an SBI account holder can avail unlimited transactions. For this the account-holder must have a minimum balance of Rs 25,000 his/her account. Cash deposit through ATM

You can also deposit cash through ATM machine. Six Indian offer fund transfer facility through ATMs through a shared network called Mitr. Punjab National Bank, Indian Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Karur Vysya Bank, IndusInd Bank and UCO Bank, are part of the ATM sharing network, Mitr, with PNB as the settlement bank.
