Remember the Sundays of the ’90s when you’d excitedly wait for Mowgli and his friends to appear on Doordarshan? If you are a ’90s kid or even slightly older, you cannot not rave about the show.
The one thing that caught the attention of audience apart from Mowgli and his gang from Jungle Book was it’s catchy title track “Jungle jungle baat chali hai, pata chala hai… chaddi pehen ke phool khila hai”, which was more of an anthem — learnt by every kid who followed the show — than just another song. Written by Gulzar, the track carved a niche for itself in many hearts and is capable of instantly transporting people back to their childhoods.
Two decades later, singer Arnab Chakraborty has produced an English version of the track, featuring little singers Arika, Prisha, Gati, Aarsha and Arohi — and it’s as cute as ever.
