CM going to Secretariat is news: Dr. Laxman

“A teacher going to school is not news. A doctor going to hospital is not news. But for us, our Chief Minister going to the Secretariat is news,” quipped State BJP president K. Laxman, pointing at rare presence of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. He was addressing ‘Meet the Press’ programme at the State Secretariat.

State BJP president K. Laxman said reservations to religious minorities are impossible as they go against the Constitution. He claimed that Telangana government’s promise of 12 per cent reservations to Muslims is aimed at pleasing the minority vote-bank.

“The Constitution allows reservations only based on social backwardness, and disallows discrimination based on religion.” He said.
