Cops on lookout for 4 who robbed bizman of Rs4.25 lakh

The Juhu police are on the lookout for four unknown gang members who allegedly entered the house of a contractor on Monday, threatened him with weapons and decamped with cash and valuables worth Rs4.25 lakh. The police have told their informants to get information about the criminals involved in the case.

According to the police, the contractor concerned stays with his wife and children in a residential building near Tata Compound at SV Road in Vile Parle (W). Around 3pm on Monday, when the complainant, who is into supplying labour, was at home with his wife and children, four unknown youths entered his residence, threatened the family with weapons and decamped with Rs1 lakh in cash and valuables worth Rs3.25 lakh.

"The accused persons then fled from the spot. On receiving information about this incident, a police team rushed to the spot. We have registered a case of robbery against unknown persons and have formed a special team to trace the culprits. We suspect that a monetary dispute with the complainant could have led to the incident. However, it is too early to comment at this stage. The complainant was also into money-lending," said an officer from Juhu police station.
