Several areas of the city to go without power today

Indore: Several parts of the city would go without power during day time in the next couple of days due to shut down of units for maintenance work by Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited (MPPKVVL).
Officials of MPPKVVL said disruption in power supplies would take place due to maintenance activities on various lines ahead of monsoon.Some of the areas that would be affected on Wednesday are Race Course Road, Malwa Mill, Janta Colony Saket Nagar, Loha Mandi and Vidya Nagar.
"We are carrying out maintenance work to make sure we do not face any problem during monsoon," said Subrato Roy, superintendent engineer, Indore city.
MPPKVVL has been carrying maintenance work in several areas form last week. While the officials of the company claimed they had announced the schedule of the power cut, most people complained that they had no clue about it.
"There was no electricity early morning, if they would have informed us, we would have made arrangements accordingly," said Devesh Singh, a resident of Vijay Nagar.
Those who were aware about the schedule complained that the duration of power cuts were longer than scheduled.
"Yesterday, there was a power cut in the area for about 8 hours, the authorities said that it took them long to fix some fault," said Prachi Chouhan, a student living in Sudama Nagar.
