Two killed in crashes on Yamuna e-way

Noida : Two persons were killed and three others injured in two separate accidents on the Yamuna expressway on Tuesday.
A Maruti Swift car carrying a couple rammed the divider near Shafipur cut on the expressway around 11am. The man at the wheel, Pawan, was critically injured while his wife, Gunjan, died on the spot. They were Delhi residents on their way to Noida when the accident happened.
Police, who were informed of the accident by passersby, took the couple to a nearby hospital, where Gunjan was declared brought dead. Pawan is recuperating in the hospital.
In another accident near Rabupura, a 65-year-old farmer died on the spot and two others were grievously injured when a truck rammed into their tractor on Tuesday afternoon. Police said Gopal was returning from Delhi with his neighbours, Veerpal and Ram Singh, when the truck hit them from behind and sped away. A case has been registered, police said.
