Traffic on Ram Jhula to be closed from April 29 to 30

Traffic on Ram Jhula to be closed from April 29 to 30
Nagpur: The construction of foundation of 56-metre pylon or tower of Ram Jhula phase II — that would support cables — would commence on April 29, said a senior MSRDC official. Following this development, all types of vehicular traffic on Ram Jhula will be completely closed for 24 hours i.e. from April 29 (9pm) to April 30 (9pm).
Senior official of Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation said that the construction of foundation of the pylon needed to be a continuous process.
The dismantling of old ROB has been completed. Moreover, due to railway traffic, the work could not commence from ground. “The private firm entrusted to construct the Ram Jhula phase II would carry out the work from over the phase-I railway overbridge. So the RoB would remain closed for traffic,” the officer explained.
The office of deputy commissioner of police (traffic) Bharat Tangde has issued a notification about banned vehicular movement for 24 hours from 9pm of April 29. For vehicles coming from east Nagpur would have to take Santra market road to reach otherside of the railway track via Loha pool road. Similarly, motorists from west Nagpur are advised to use Tekdi road to reach Central Avenue or east Nagpur.
