Cabinet changes made to serve people better: Kavitha
Hyderabad: Nizamabad MP and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter K Kavitha said on Tuesday that there is no such status as someone being the number two or number three in the TRS. "Any such talk is mere speculation and I request media to refrain from indulging in such discussion," she said.
She was answering a question relating to the handing of additional portfolios to her brother and Telangana minister KT Rama Rao and taking away one of her cousin T Harish Rao's cabinet portfolios.
Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao effected changes in the portfolios of some of his cabinet ministers on Monday setting off yet another round of speculation about Rama Rao's ascension in the government over others in the state cabinet.
Addressing a press conference at Telangana Bhavan, the TRS party headquarters in the city, Kavitha said that asking who of the two, Rama Rao or Harish Rao, is number two in the state cabinet is akin to asking whether it was the heart or the head that is more important for the body. "They both have a role to play, both are important. They are like the two eyes of the party. The changes in the portfolios is a decision taken purely to ensure better service delivery to the people and administrative efficiency," Kavitha said, adding, "I urge the media not to try and create bush fires where there are none."
She said TRS president and CM Chandrasekhar Rao will provide direction to the party at the TRS plenary at Khammam on Wednesday. The party will find itself reinvigorated and work as a bridge between the government and the people, she said.
