TTD cracks the whip on corrupt officials
Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has cracked the whip on corrupt and non-performing employees. The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) too, has been conducting raids on the residences of corrupt officials following complaints of large-scale irregularities.
The ACB officials on Tuesday raided the houses of Narendra, who works in the TTD recruitment cell, and Tanagvelu, who works in the Kalyanakatta, following complaints that the two TTD employees had amassed wealth disproportionate to known sources of income.

A few days ago, one employee, who was on deputation to the TTD, was sent back to his parent department on disciplinary grounds. Vigilance inspector Venkateswarlu allegedly carried a pen camera into the temple against the rules. Cameras are not allowed inside the temple in Tirumala. He was repatriated to his parent department.
Similarly, two home guards, who failed to attend to duties near the chariot of the presiding deity, were shunted out. A few private vehicles were found parked in the prohibited area as the home guards, Dorairaj and Srinivasulu, were not present in their designated spots.
Earlier, four deputy executive officers, C Ramana, K Rama Rao, Chenchu Lakshmi and Venugopal, were transferred. Sources said many transfers are on the cards in the coming days.
