Chandigarh, April 26
Punjab Education Minister Daljit Singh Cheema said today that Australia had not refused the visa applications of students who passed the Class XII examination from the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB). “The Australian Government has clarified that any visa application has not and will not be refused on the basis of a qualification from the PSEB,” Cheema said here.
The Australian Education and Training Department has written to PSEB Chairperson Tejinder Kaur Dhaliwal in this regard.
“Their government has also clarified that under the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement, the findings are not made on the basis of one factor alone and each application is assessed on its merit,” Cheema said.
