New Delhi, April 26

Namdharis will stage a protest march in Delhi on April 28 against the lack of headway in the investigations in the murder of its matriarch Mata Chand Kaur (85) and to press for a CBI probe.

Namdhari Darbar president and former PPCC chief HS Hanspal said here that a memorandum will be submitted to Home Minister Rajnath Singh on the occasion.

“There is unrest among the Namdharis who are spread over across the world with regard to the tardy progress in the investigations”, he said.

The community has already organised a series of protests in Punjab against the delay of justice in the case.

Two unidentified persons opened fire on her at Sri Bhani Sahib, the head-quarters of the Namdharis, on April 4. She was rushed to the hospital, but was declared on arrival.

The apparent soft-pedalling in the case gives credence to wide-ranging suspicion of a deep-rooted conspiracy by powerful forces inimical to the Namdharis.

“For over a decade the peace loving community has been victimized by violence to disrupt its stability. Mata Chand Kaur’s assassination was part of a series of nefarious design, ” Hanspal added.

He referred to the murder of Avtar Singh, a follower of Satguru Jagjit Singh in 2011 at Katani Kalan village in Ludhiana and the brutal attack on spiritual leader Uday Singh.
