David Pieris Motor Company appoints new Chairman

Effective 01 April 2016, Shyamal Mendis was appointed Executive Director and designated as Chairman David Pieris Motor Company Limited, David Pieris Motor Company (Lanka) Limited and David Pieris Automobiles Limited. 
Mendis succeeds Sumith Cumaranatunga who has retired. 
Mendis’ association with the company is not new, having worked at David Pieris Motor Company Limited (DPMC) from 1994 to 1998. He was appointed Non–Executive Director of DPMC and DP Logistics (Pvt) Limited in August 2015.
He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (ICASL) and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) of the United Kingdom. He is also the Chairman and Managing Director of SasiaNet (Private) Limited, an independent software services provider for the Financial Services industry.
