Ashram to modify Bapu's Upasana Mandir

Ahmedabad: At this small partially fenced enclosure, the Upasana Mandir, in Sabarmati Ashram Mahatma Gandhi spoke to “his family“ -the ashram inmates, visitors who came to meet him and led evening prayers.
For years this place stood witness to the many talks delivered by Bapu on selfexamination and the importance of satyagraha and self-discipline. Today, after a long time, this space is being renovated by the Ashram administration, who are widening this small space, albeit, to accommodate more people.
While a few wished that the space be left as it was, others in the Ashram felt the space needed sprucing up to maintain its sanctity.
Till this day, a small group of people visit this space in the evening and morning to continue that tradition.
