Traffic restrictions in place

The town police have announced several traffic restrictions in the town on April 27 keeping in view the Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s plenary and public meeting. According to police sources, vehicular traffic, barring the vehicles bound for the public meeting, would not be allowed from Yellendu crossroad to NSP Guest House, the Minister’s camp office on the bypass road to Tekulapalli Bridge, and from Two Town Police Station to NS Canal Guest House between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Wednesday. No vehicular traffic, except for the vehicles bound for the plenary session, would be allowed to ply on the Gollagudem road during the session on Wednesday.

The traffic police have also imposed restrictions on the movement of heavy vehicles, and announced certain traffic diversions on some of the main routes under the town limits between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The police also specified some specific drop and parking points for the vehicles coming to the public meeting from different directions to prevent traffic congestion during the TRS plenary and public meeting to be held on the same day.

Bandobast planned

An elaborate bandobast has also been planned for the plenary and public meeting.

According to sources, more than 1,900 police personnel, including three ASPs, 17 DSPs, 60 CIs, 125 SIs, 245 HCs/ASIs, 900 PCs and 145 women PCs, besides 450 Home Guards, have been drafted from Khammam and neighbouring districts for bandobast duty. Four platoons of armed reserve police force would be deployed as part of security arrangements in the town on Wednesday.
