Nominations filed in Kanyakumari

A total of 12 candidates filed their nomination papers in six constituencies on Monday in Kanyakumari district.

Former MLA and BJP candidate Pon Vijayaragavan filed his papers in Killiyoor, and T. Chandrasekar of BJP filed his papers in Killiyoor as a dummy candidate.

C. Thankamony of Indian Christian Front filed papers in Killiyoor constituency before Returning Officer S. Chandrasekaran.

Sitting Congress MLA S. Vijayatharini filed her papers before the Vilavancode Returning Officer S. Shanmugaraj.

John Christober of Janata Dal (S) and an independent candidate N. David Raj filed their papers in Vilavancode.

DMK Kanyakumari west district secretary T. Mano Thangaraj filed his papers before Returning Officer Shreya P. Singh in Padmanabhapuram constituency.

V.M. Jagadev of Shive Sena also filed his papers in this constituency.

In Colachel constituency BJP candidate P. Ramesh and a dummy candidate K. Geetha filed their papers. M. Akash Dev of Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam filed his papers before Returning Officer Sivadoss.

In Nagercoil constituency, senior BJP leader M.R. Gandhi filed his papers before Returning Officer S. Madhiyazhagan.

In Kanyakumari, Nagercoil Municipal Chairman and BJP candidate M. Meena Dev filed papers. S. Hilman Bruce Edwin of Pattali Makkal Katchi filed his papers before Returning Officer D. Chinnammal.
