RAJOURI, Apr 25:  At least 50 members of a marriage party were injured, three of them seriously when a bus carrying them to Thandi Kassi near Rajouri from Potha in Kalakote, met with an accident near Jamola bridge on Kalakote-Rajouri road this morning.
The incident occurred at around 9.15 am today, when the bus No. JK02BF/ 3471, carrying `Baratis’ was on way to Thandi Kassi from Saranu village in Potha area of Kalakote.  Some of the marriage party members including drum beaters/ band party were sitting on roof top of the bus.  Bridegroom and two members of his family were travelling in a car ahead of this bus.
As the ill-fated bus reached near Jamola bridge, the driver lost control  and the bus turned turtle on the road side. The driver jumped outside and escaped from the spot.  The people of the area rushed for the rescue operation and they also informed  police.
The police party led by DySP DAR, Kewel Krishan and SHO Rajouri, Chaman Gorkha reached the spot. CMO Rajouri along with staff and ambulance also rushed and started shifting of the injured to the District hospital, Rajouri. Three of them were referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu and two Defence personnel were referred to  Military Hospital.
All the injured were identified as Som Raj, son of Sunder Dass; Santosh Kumari, wife of Som Raj; Joginder Singh, son of Karnail Singh; Adeep Singh, son of Kashmir Singh; Gurmeet Singh, son of Chaman Lal; Ratan Singh, son of Heera Nand; Sadhu Singh, son of Bali Ram; Jasbir Singh, son of Prem Nath; Chaman Singh, son of Dass Singh; Jeet Kumar, son of Bali Ram;  Manohar  Lal, son of Kala Ram; Daleep Singh, son of Jia Lal; Mohinder Kumar, son of Som Raj; Harjeev, son of Kasturi Lal; Shyam Kumar, son of Nath Ram; Ram Pal, son of Surjeet Singh; Balveer Singh, son of Krishan Lal; Vishal Singh, son of Ramesh Kumar; Jeet Singh, son of Mohan Singh; Abdul Aziz, son of Kalu; Bhushan Kumar, son of Gyan Singh; Ramesh Kumar, son of Isher Dass; Govind Singh, son of Kalu Singh; Chander Parkash, son of Inder Singh, Balveer Singh, son of Subash Singh; Surant Singh, son of Som Raj; Ravi Kumar, son of Kaka Ram; Balak Ram, son of Amar Nath; Purnam, son of Sai Ram; Kulveer, son of Jia Lal; Babali Devi, Sanjeev Kumar, son of Parshotam Lal  and Ranjeet Singh, son of Nathi Ram, all residents of  Saranoo; Des Raj, son of Jia Lal from Dalori; Gulshan, son of Balbir from Mera; Punjab Singh from Khah; Shanty and Rohit sons of Karnail Singh from Mera; Rakesh Kumar, son of Parshotam  Kumar from Jamola; Rashpal Singh from Khah;Madan Lal, son of Lal Chand from Doongi; Kala Khan, son of Attah Mohd from Bal Jaralan; Puran Singh from Dalori, Nirmal, son of Suresh from Bal; Seeta  and Rajesh from Godhar; Asif Iqbal from Sedda; Amar Singh from Ladote and Mohd Misri, son of Alam Din from Peeri.
Three persons referred to GMC Jammu have been identified as    Santosh Kumari, wife of Som Raj; Asif Iqbal, son of Alam Din and Sanjeev Kumar, son of Parshotam Lal from Saranu.  The police registered     a case against the driver, who escaped from the spot.
