ISLAMABAD: The Punjab government has clamped gag on Jaffar Jatoi within the revenue limits of the province for three months. According to a notification issued by Punjab Home Department, the ban on speech by Zakir Jatoi has been imposed under section 5 of the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance 1960. Meanwhile, the authority has also imposed ban and declared every copy or version of three books including “Ba Zamir Pakistani kee Pukar”, “Harf-e-Na Suhana Al-maroof Aaina Brailviat” and “Qoumi Ittehad Say Edm-e-Mowafqat ka Sabub” be immediately forfeited due to carrying material “treasonable and seditious in nature”. The authors of these books are: Muhammad Zakaullah Khan, Hafiz Abdul Rehman and Abu Muhammad, respectively. The forfeiture order has been issued under section 99-A of Criminal Procedures Code 1898.
