BSP chief Mayawati is unlikely to hold any rally in West Bengal where multi-phase Assembly polls are taking place. BSP has fielded candidates on 160 of the total 294 seats in the state.
She will, however, address one rally each in Tamil Nadu and Kerala next month.
The two states will go for single-phase Assembly elections on May 16.
Party insiders say Mayawati is focusing on preparations for UP and Punjab Assembly polls. While Punjab will go to polls early next year, UP will follow soon after.

The first phase of elections in West Bengal was held on April 4 and while the sixth and the last phase will take place on May 5. BSP’s in-charge for state, Mahesh Arya, said Mayawati had addressed party workers in Kolkata in January this year and kicked off the party’s campaign then. He said she is unlikely to hold any more rallies in the state as she is busy in the affairs of Uttar Pradesh.
The BSP chief is likely to hold a rally in Thiruvananthapuram on May 7 and in Chennai on May 8. The party is likely to contest 200 of the total 234 seats in Tamil Nadu, said party coordinator M Gopinath. It will also field candidates on 50 of the 140 seats in Kerala.
