Restaurant stocks are due up for earnings over the next few days and expectations are likely high for the group. Cheaper gas, strong employment numbers, and a nice industry rank are suggesting to many investors that better numbers are to be expected from this highly-discretionary group. 

Kicking things off are two companies which used to be Wall Street darlings but have seen fallen back; Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD) and Chipotle (CMG). Both of these companies could face some trouble in earnings season thanks to weak Earnings ESPs, though make sure to watch the video for more details on this situation.

After that, investors have Restaurant Brands (QSR) which is the parent of Burger King and Tim Horton’s. The company has some interesting stats to note on both the growth and value fronts, and investors will be looking for the company to live up to expectations in this regard.

Lastly, investors also have Domino’s Pizza (DPZ) which is reporting on Thursday as well. This Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) stock has a good track record and it has been an investor favorite for good reason. Shares currently have a positive ESP so it is possible for DPZ to beat yet again, showing us that even old-line companies can benefit from intelligent use of technology.
