While Laal Rang might not have raked in a lot of moolah, the performances of the lead cast have earned them a lot of appreciation. While Randeep Hooda is a seasoned performer and Akshay Oberoi is a few films old, it was a debut experience for Pia Bajpai. The actress who hails from Etawah in Uttar Pradesh played the role of Poonam Sharma, a girl from Saharanpur who falls for Rajesh (Akshay Oberoi). The actress’ attention to detail has been much appreciated by one and all. Pia says she did not have to work too hard as she was aware of the local mannerisms as she comes from the same belt. However, working on the sets was no cakewalk. The reason being the presence of cute Akshay Oberoi and hot Randeep Hooda. “Bahut mushkil tha. I had to struggle to concentrate (laughs out loud). Kahin mind divert na ho jaye. My character, Poonam is shown in love with Rajesh but was also Shankar (Randeep) in the film. I told Akshay that it is Rajesh till the end of the film but once it was over, I would switch loyalties (laughs),” she says. Pia began her acting career in 2008 with the Tamil film, Poi Solla Porom and went on to do a number of Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films.
