Actors Anu Prabhakar and Raghu Mukherjee tie the knot

Kannada film actors Anu Prabhakar and model-turned-actor Raghu Mukherjee tied the knot yesterday in Bengaluru.

The actors’ first circle of relatives and close friends took part in the wedding ceremony.

Anu Prabhakar, a child artist, and daughter of dubbing artist and actor Gayathri Prabhakar, made her debut as a heroine in the 90s in the Kannada cinema with Hrudaya Hrudaya.

She later acted in over 55 films including Thavarige Baa Thangi, Preethi Prema Pranaya, Hrudayavantha and Aatagara among others. She won the state award for best actress for the films Shaapa and Pareekshe . She also hosted television shows like Baale Bangara, Shrimathi Karnataka, Home Minister, and Autograph Please on Zee and ETV Kannada TV Channels.

Raghu Mukherjee, a winner of the Grasim Mr India and Mr International titles has acted in Kannada films such as Paris Pranaya, Savaari, Preethiyalli Sahaja, Super Ranga , and most recently, in Jessie . This is the second marriage for both actors. The low-key pre-wedding ceremonies were held on Sunday.

It’s said to be a first for a Kannada TV reality show. Suvarna Channel, through this whole week, will air special episodes of the reality show Dance Dance that were shot in front of the Taj Mahal. The theme of the series is love. This is a new high for the contestants, after having danced their way through fire, muddy fields, in front of Athirappilly waterfalls, on moving trailers, and more challenges.

The show is being judged by choreographer Chinni Prakash, and actors Sruthi Hariharan and Sharmiela Mandre. Dance Dance airs on Suvarna Channel at 7.30 p.m., Monday to Friday

New reality show

for kids

Zee TV Kannada is all armed with another TV show this month. Drama Juniors will feature 30 young talented children aged five to 13, who’ve been selected from over 10,000 children who participated in state-wide auditions. The show will be hosted by Master Anand, himself a successful child actor in the past.

The show has a stellar panel of judges too -- popular TV serial director T.N. Seetharam, noted Kannada-Tamil film actor and TV host ‘Julie’ Lakshmi, who also entered filmdom as a child artist, and actor Vijay Raghavendra, who again started as a child artist in Chinnari Muttha .

Contestants will go through various genres of acting like mimicry, drama, shadow play etc to bring out their acting talent. The show airs every Saturday and Sunday from April 30, on Zee TV Kannada, at 9 p.m.
