“Sex and the City” is coming to the Hamptons: Author Candace Bushnell has bought a historic new house in Sag Harbor and will be spending time there over the summer.
“Killing Monica” author Bushnell, who also has an estate in Connecticut, said in an Observer interview last year, “Two of my best girlfriends just moved to Sag Harbor. And it’s so much fun to go there and visit them! It’s so cute . . . and they both have these little houses, but they’re charming.”
But her advice for going to the Hamptons: “Take a Xanax. Because it’s a really, really long drive in the traffic. And then when you get there, there’s more traffic.”
Sources tell us that Bushnell bought a charming two-bedroom, two-bathroom original 18th-century farmhouse on the edge of the village with the help of broker Simon Harrison.
She plans to restore the original barn in the garden, the source added, and could stable some of her horses there.
