Three held for robbing trader

Ahmedabad: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the city police on Sunday arrested three persons -Shahrukh Malek, Mohsin Ansari, and Sami Malek -all residents of Juhapura, for robbing a trader of Rs 1.35 lakh, a cell phone, and an iPad worth Rs 20,000. Assistant commissioner of police, SOG, B C Solanki said that the three accused had monitored the movements of the trader, Zahid Ansari, for four days before robbing him on April 19.
“We have recovered the stolen goods and Rs 49,000 in cash from the arrested accused,“ said Solanki.“We are hunting for the fourth accused who has fled with Rs 65,000.“
According to SOG sources they have also recovered the vehicles used in the robbery.
“The four used to hang out near Sun Rise arcade near Vishala circle,“ said an SOG source. “They came to know that Ansari normally carries cash while returning home from his shop located nearby .“
On the evening of 19 April, they threw chilli powder in the eyes of Ansari and fled with the bag containing the valuables.A complaint was registered with the Vejalpur police station.
