: A minor girl is battling for life at Safdajung Hospital here after being pushed off the fourth floor of a building in neighbouring Noida, allegedly by a man whose marriage proposal she had turned down.

The incident happened on April 19, when her family members were away. Neighbours informed the girl’s parents, and her father took her first to Shivalik Hospital and then to Delhi’s Safdarjung.

With injuries on the head and several bones on the limbs fractured, the girl remained unconscious for the next three days.

“The accused is her neighbour, Pushpendra, who had been troubling her for quite some time,” said a police officer. The accused has been booked under Sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 354 (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code, and has been arrested.
