‘India’s small industry, not govt, runs the country’

‘India’s small industry, not govt, runs the country’
Nagpur:RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said no government has ever been able to run this country perfectly, because of its vastness and diversity. “There is no point in having expectations from the government, because the government doesn’t run the country. It is the small scale industry, the cooperative sector, traditional handicraft artisans, farmers and family system who have been actually running India,” he said, adding that Sarathi is a trust which has its own contribution in running the country by supporting small industry and handicraft sector, by helping them, without having any expectation from them.
The RSS chief also said, “The nation has witnessed less corruption and less violence whenever we have influenced the people’s ideology.” Bhagwat was speaking at the silver jubilee celebration of Sarathi Trust, on Sunday evening, at Chitnavis Centre. Bhagwat was the chief guest and Pune-based builder DS Kulkarni was special guest. Trust president Dr Madhukar Apte, founder secretary Amar Vazalwar, working president Rajendra Rathi and secretary Dr Aniruddh Vazalwar were also present.
Among many initiatives taken by it, Sarathi has been the first organization to conceptualize Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME). It was also the first to suggest a separate stock exchange for SME. Research book on Vidarbha Development ‘Vidarbha Ek Shodh’ was also published by the trust. Covering its ideology and achievements in last 25 years, the book was also released by Bhagwat. Two trust members, Hemant Ambade and Ranjan Dandige, also received awards from Bhagwat for their active participation over last 25 years.
Bhagwat said, “No government has ever been able to successfully run the country. I appreciate the British because they had made a lot of reforms. In reality, they had never run the country; instead they ruled it. Two things they had done successfully; one is being stringent with law and order, and another one is active tax collection. But the country doesn’t run on these two factors only.”
He said, “At present, the small scale industry, cooperative sector, traditional handicraft artisans and farmers are the reason our country is running. It’s because they play a major role in country’s finances.” He added, “Globalization was never our agenda; we don’t see it as the world market. People have started liking the Sangh even more now, because of the ideology. People are developing love for the nation and for everyone living in it.”
