State Karate team selected

JAMMU, Apr 24: Jammu and Kashmir State Karate team was selected to participate in KAI Sub Junior, Cadet, Junior Under-21 Years National Karate Championship, 2016 to be held from May 20 to May 22, 2016 at Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi.
The event is being organized by Karate Association of India (KAI), recognized by Govt. of India, Member World Karate Federation (WKF) and Asian Karate Federation (AKF.
The team was selected in trials held today at Gandhi Bhawan, Jammu by Amateur Karate Do Association of Jammu & Kashmir (AKAJK) under the technical supervision of Ambedkar Gupta, president, AKAJK and other officials including Amit Sangra, Technical Director, AKAJK, Umesh Rekhi, qualified Kumite Judge “A” from KAI, Deepa Sharma and Tushar Jandial.
The medal winners from different districts who had participated in the State Championship held on December 16 and December 17, 2015 at M.A. Stadium, Jammu were invited for the trials.
The players selected in their respective male Kumite and Kata events in Sub Junior, Junior, Cadet & -21 yrs. categories included Tavnoor Kour, Muskan Radhotra, Akanksha Malhotra, Minal Sharma, Priya Thakur, Tanisha Mahajan,  Azmat Bibi Anuj Gupta, Arindham Sangra, Sudixit Mansotra, Anjan Chopra, Devesh Mahajan, Abhiraj Singh, Neeraj Sharma, Piyush Bhardwaj, Babar Amin Bhat, Bhuvan Vasudev, Mandeep Singh, Sourav Mehra, Bharat Jalotra, Amit Sharma, Vishwas Khajuria, Rajan Khajuria, Sahil Singh Langeh, Nikhil Rajput.
Fifteen days training camp of the selected players will be conducted at Gandhi Bhawan, Jammu from April 25, 2016 onwards.
The team will be escorted by Amit Sangra, Umesh Rekhi and Deepa Sharma.
